Croydon Macmillan Cancer Psychological Support Service

Practical help and support groups

We understand that a cancer diagnosis can feel like an emotional rollercoaster. We are here to support you from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. Our experienced clinical psychologists and psychotherapists specialise in helping people affected by cancer. We offer up to eight free individual sessions to help you manage the emotional impact of cancer and learn strategies to cope. Sessions are confidential and typically one hour long. We accept self-referrals as well as from health professionals. We are based at Croydon University Hospital for face to face appointments and can also support people whilst in hospital. Virtual appointments are also available. The service is open to anyone over 18 years who is affected by cancer including carers and family members. We also offer brief couples therapy for issues directly related to cancer, as well as therapy groups for people with specific needs.
